Yvonne Dorsey — "Miss Yvonne"

Yvonne Dorsey — "Miss Yvonne"

Sixties, third-generation Sparrows Point. Her grandmother integrated the steel line and her father worked the fabs. She runs the Local, faces the strike, and knows the fab floors well enough to shut them down or wreck them — which is precisely why PMG and Carrion want her broken.

Work-calloused hands around a coffee thermos that is more duct tape than thermos. A Local jacket carrying more union pins than visible fabric. Tired eyes that sharpen the instant the fabs come up. Her grandmother's wedding ring rides on a chain at her neck rather than a finger; decades of work swelled the fingers past fitting it.

She calls everyone baby or hon regardless of age or rank, and uses the warmth to disarm you right before she says the hard thing. She will not let anyone speak for the union — allies included — and corrects it instantly and in public.

What she wants is simple and difficult: win the strike, with nobody on the line dying for it and nobody going to prison for it.

Reached Free Signal by handwritten note, delivered to their boat and signed only the Lady — a time, a place, and nothing else. Met them in the back room of a bar and gave them the job: buy the picket one more day before Carrion's dawn strikebreak. See Session One and Session Two.
