A make-ahead breakfast riff on tiramisu — espresso, cocoa, and vanilla soaked into oats and chia overnight.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1½ tbsp chia seeds
- 3 tbsp espresso
- 1¼ cups milk
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Combine: Add oats, cocoa powder, chia seeds, espresso, milk, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla to a jar or container. Stir well until cocoa powder is fully incorporated.
Soak: Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
Serve: Stir before eating and top with a spoonful of vanilla yogurt. Add a splash more milk if it's thicker than you'd like.
Notes
- A dusting of extra cocoa powder on top before serving leans further into the tiramisu vibe.
- Use maple syrup with a non-dairy milk to keep it vegan.
- For a richer texture, stir in a spoonful of mascarpone or Greek yogurt just before serving.
